Radiator installation

The drywall is installed. It is now time to see if my radiator connection preps are any good.

I took great care to make sure the copper connections are at the precise location to fit the baseboard radiator connections. And now comes the moment of truth.

I was lucky – it all worked out!

The video shows one of the two more involved installations. The library and the dining room both have a bay window layout, which requires us to install several baseboard radiators in series. All other rooms just have one baseboard radiator, and thus require just two connections, the hot water supply and return.

In order to have the option of easy servicing for each radiator, or in case I need to replace one of them, I used cast-copper unions at each connection. This makes it very easy disconnect and take down any of the radiators.

And that is exactly what I will have to do – disconnect and take them down – because we still have to tape and mud the drywall.

Let me conclude by saying that the baseboard radiator installation was the easy part. The next step generated an abundance of gray hair! Stay tuned.
